Festivals Malta Agency, the national agency to nurture creativity, professionalism, participation, and cultural education in arts festivals is engaging a service provider answering to the CEO of Festivals Malta. The Junior Graphic Designer is mainly responsible for assisting the Creative Manager in creating designs according to specifications and marketing strategies of the Agency. The ideal candidate should have original ideas and have a keen eye for detail. Ultimately, a successful junior graphic designer should be able to create imaginative designs, be open to learning more and create impressive designs that promote the agency’s vision.
The service shall be remunerated at €20,000 for twelve months which may be renewed for further one-year periods subject to successful performance by the contractor. Payment shall be effected on a monthly period upon receipt of a valid VAT invoice by the Contractor.
SERVICES TO BE PROVIDED
Understanding project requirements and ideas;
Using graphic techniques to create designs for various media channels;
Collaborating with the team to come up with creative solutions;
Using feedback from other designers to improve;
Ensure projects are completed to high standards, within budget, and on time;
Prioritise and manage multiple projects at the same time;
Ensure that designs deliver a clear message and follow brand guidelines;
Monitor and maintain quality and ensure accuracy and consistency of all brand material;
REQUIREMENTS
Diploma at MQF level 5 in graphic arts, design, communications, or related field;
Minimum of 1 year of working experience as a graphic designer;
Sound Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, InDesign, Premiere, and other graphic design software;
Sound knowledge of design techniques;
Sound Knowledge of layouts, graphic fundamentals, typography, print, and the web;
Ability to work well within a team;
Excellent time management skills;
A talent for creativity and problem-solving;
Strong analytical skills;
Excellent eye for detail;
Excellent communication skills.
Preference will be given to candidates with any or all of the following:
Familiarity with HTML and CSS;
Knowledge in 2D and/or 3D animation;
Experience in illustration.

Eligible applicants will be assessed by a Selection Board to determine their suitability for the post. The maximum mark for this selection process is 100% and the pass mark is 60%.
