EXPRESSION OF INTEREST FOR THE PROVISION OF FOOD AND/OR DRINKS STALLS/TRUCKS DURING THE MALTA JAZZ FESTIVAL 2022 ACTIVITIES

Ref: FM2022/001

As per Government Gazzette published 28th June 2022 Nru./No. 20,882.

1. INTRODUCTION

The Malta Jazz Festival’s (MJF) 32nd edition is back after two years of abridged editions brought on by the pandemic. Jazz is about diversity and as in the past 3 decades the festival will celebrate this music in all its different forms. The MJF will continue its growth through unique performances by headlining international and local artists.

During this year’s edition, the festival will also be paying homage to the festival’s creator, Charles ‘City’ Gatt, who passed away earlier this year. Charles was a beacon of artistic integrity, and this event aims to keep honouring his vision through our work.

Festivals Malta produces the Malta Jazz Festival and is working closely with the Artistic Director and other stakeholders to deliver a successful festival.

The area of interest is at Quarry Wharf, Ta Liesse in the Valletta Harbour and there are not enough food and drink outlets in the area to cater for the people expected.

Festivals Malta Agency is inviting prospective economic operators to submit an application to register their expressions of interest in providing food and drink stalls and food services to the audience on the night as per the hereunder conditions.

Disclaimer:

Pre-COVID, audience numbers for the MALTA JAZZ FESTIVAL events ranged between 1000 and 1500 per night at Ta’ Liesse in Valletta. The event will follow health regulations in force at the time. In case of restrictions on the number of attendees allowed, in accepting proposals for Food and Drinks, the Agency will respect a ratio of 1 food and 1 drinks stall per 1000 people attending.

Prospective applicants are to note that by submitting an application as specified below, they are confirming agreement to all of the terms and conditions related to the Expression of Interest for the Provision of Food and Drinks Stalls during the Malta Jazz Festival 2022 Activities which shall be held on the evening of Friday 15th and Saturday 16th July 2022.

Prospective applicants are to note that although applications may be submitted, evaluated and contracts signed, in case of new restrictions on the hosting of cultural events published by the Health Department and/or inclement weather, the Event might be postponed or cancelled. In such a circumstance, the application and awardee fees may be refunded. No other compensation claims shall be entertained by Festivals Malta Agency.

The application shall be declared null if any information provided is incorrect and/or not verified.
