ASUN NOALES – OTRADANZA (SPAIN)

Asun Noales dancer, creator and artistic director of the OtraDanza Company. She has a degree in choreography and performance techniques from the Ministry of Education. She graduated in classical dance and classical Spanish dance from the Oscar Espla Conservatory in Alicante. She graduated in choreography and performance techniques in contemporary dance from the Barcelona Theater Institute. She has been part of companies such as Mudances / Angels Margarit, BCB, Tanz Forum Köln, Cia. Vicente Saez and Les Petits Endroits du Corps / Santiago Sempere. She has worked on projects alongside creators such as Gustavo Ramírez Sansano, Mario Zambrano, Gigi Cachiuleanu, Ramón Oller, Henrick Kaalund, and Luc Bouy.She has worked alongside composers such as Carles Magraner, Jesús Salvador “Chapi”, Sazed Ul Alam, Panxo Barrera, Zoe Keating, José Navarro, Aurora Bauzá and Pere Jou. She has worked alongside filmmakers such as Bigas Luna, Jesús Monllaó, Gregorio Arroyo, Javier Quintanilla, Rafa Moles and Pepe Andreu. She co-directed the Patas Arriba Company for six years and in 2007 she began directing her OtraDanza Company. His works have been performed at festivals and stages in the USA (Ailey Citigroup Theater and Purchase theater in NY), Morocco (Magazine Festival in Rabat), Korea (Seoul Drum Festival), Lithuania (Vilnius), Costa Rica (Dance Theater in San José), Chile (Universidad Mayor de Santiago), Schrit_tmacher Festival (Aachen-Germany), Sagunt a Escena Festival, Look Qui Balla Here Season (Mercat de les Flors de Barcelona), SoloDos en Danza (Barva-Costa Rica), La Machine San José (Costa Rica), Zawirowania (Warsaw), Madrid en Danza, etc. She makes international tours with AECID through Honduras, Nicaragua, El Salvador, Bulgaria, Greece, Albania, Cyprus, Peru and Germany. Guest choreographer in companies such as UNA Danza Jóven (Heredia), Suny Purchase (NY), Summer Dance International de Burgos/NY, Passerelles 03 (Brussels), Neuberger Museum of art (NY), Take Dance Company (NY), Ballet de Theatres of the Generalitat Valenciana, Luna Negra Dance Theater in Chicago, Rigolo Swiss Nouveau Cirque and Tanzcompagnie Giessen. He does a great job of disseminating and promoting dance and directs the DASA PER A TOTS summer courses since 2006, the April Festival in Dance since 2012, the Good Scholars Project since 2012 and the DANSA PER A TOTS JUNIOR summer campus since 2016. She has been a full professor at the “José Espadero” Professional Dance Conservatory in Alicante since 2008. Founder of the Spanish Academy of Performing Arts and member of the AVED, APDCV and EMPRENDO DANZA Associations.
